I enjoy almost everything about it! Is is hard work? You betcha. But the satisfaction I get from watching the resulting motion I've painstakingly drawn out is always worth it in the end. Puzzling together the right movement has always felt like a reward even when I was first learning to animate. All the planning and designing is just as fun as laying out the roughs and cleaning it all up. The amount of expression you can capture through animation is truly amazing!
Why animation?
I absolutely love animating speech and how the body moves with each syllable's delivery. The face, jaw, and eyes all do something different depending on the words spoken and the emotions a character feels. Moving characters to convey a quiet message is just as important as the words they're speaking and I take immense joy in that.
Favorite thing to animate?
It's really comforting to express myself by finding different ways to personify my emotions, so I'd have to say either my personas or my OCs. In a way, they both eventually become the same for me and that feeling of self expression through a character has always been very important to me. Considering how little I vocalize in my day to day life, original work
is very personal and dear to me.
